Srinagar, Oct 7: National Conference (NC) leader Farooq Abdullah has expressed openness to an alliance with Mehbooba Mufti’s People’s Democratic Party (PDP), even if not necessary for government formation in Jammu and Kashmir.

Buoyed by favorable exit polls for the Congress-NC alliance, Abdullah emphasized the need for political unity to ensure the region’s future.

While Abdullah acknowledged potential support from PDP, he clarified that no formal discussions had taken place.

He expressed gratitude toward Mufti but urged caution, noting that exit polls can be misleading and that the true outcome will be revealed after votes are counted.

Exit polls suggest a possible edge for the Congress-NC alliance, but predictions also indicate a hung assembly, underscoring the importance of post-election coalitions.
