ELFA Int’l distributes ration among poor on Eid

A Srinagar-based Non-governmental Organization `ELFA International’ distributed 500 Eid/Rations packs among the needy and poor families in Srinagar and Kupwara on the occasion of Eid ul fitr.

“Ration packets included at least one month ration for a family of five members including sanitary napkins, while as Eid pack included bakery, chicken etc. in addition around 60 families were provided cash assistance directly deposited in their bank accounts, ” they said in a statement.

Organization in its first phase provided more than 30000 emergency equipment like PPEs, Face Masks, Hand Sanitizers, Hand Gloves etc to several health & emergency centres in six districts of Kashmir to fight with the corona virus outbreak in Kashmir.


CEO of the organization said that our organization is committed to continue the relief & emergency response in the Kashmir valley to fight the outbreak of corona virus.


“Our primary focus is on education, youth, and women empowerment. After the corona virus outbreak, we shifted gears and launched an emergency response,” Mehran Khan, Chief Executive (CEO) of ELFA International, told The Kashmir Monitor. 


Khan said the NGO is now trying to reach out to the poor and needy who are unable to sustain during the lockdown. “There are many families who do not have money or means to procure supplies.  Everybody has been hit by the lockdown. Some people can survive for a longer time, others can’t. Especially, rickshaw pullers and transporters are badly hit”, he said.
