DLSA B’pora organises awareness prog cum cleanliness drive

BANDIPORA, OCTOBER 02: Under the nationwide campaign “Swachhata Hi Seva-2024 (SHS-2024),” the District Legal Services Authority, Bandipora, in collaboration with District Judiciary Bandipora and Municipal Council Bandipora, held a cleanliness drive at the premises of District Court Complex Bandipora on 2nd October 2024. The drive witnessed staff cleaning the premises, with the aim of fostering cleanliness and a sense of responsibility for their community’s hygiene.

The drive was carried out under the supervision of Khalil Ahmad Choudhary, Chairman of District Legal Services Authority (Pr. Distt. & Sessions Judge), Bandipora, and the guidance of Iqbal Ahmad Akhoon, Secretary of District Legal Services Authority Bandipora.

The event was graced by the presence of Khalil Ahmad Choudhary, Chairman DLSA (Pr. District & Sessions Judge), Bandipora, and Iqbal Ahmad Akhoon, Secretary DLSA (Chief Judicial Magistrate) Bandipora.

The event commenced with the “Swachhata Pledge” administered by the Chairman, symbolizing an unwavering commitment to nurturing a cleaner and more sustainable environment. The drive started at 10:30 A.M. Litters were collected in large garbage sacks and segregated for proper disposal. Waste within the Court premises was cleared, and the stacked bins used for dumping waste were emptied into garbage bags. All collected waste was handed over to the Municipal Council Authorities for proper disposal. At the end of the drive, participants expressed contentment for being part of the campaign.

The cleanliness drive at the Court Complex, Bandipora, was a resounding success. It exemplified the spirit of ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ and the community’s and government’s commitment to achieving a ‘Garbage-Free India.’ Such initiatives are pivotal in realizing the vision of a cleaner and healthier nation, aligned with Mahatma Gandhi’s principles of cleanliness and self-reliance.

In addition, two more cleanliness drives were undertaken at Talukas—one at Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Sumbal, under the chairmanship of Rahila Rashid (Munsiff/JMIC) Sumbal, and another at Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Gurez, under the chairmanship of Mehak Mehboob (Munsiff/JMIC) Gurez.

The event was attended by staff members of District Judiciary Bandipora, DLSA Bandipora, TLSCs Sumbal & Gurez, staff members of Municipal Council Bandipora/Sumbal, Panel Lawyers, and Para Legal Volunteers.
