SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 24: Director Health Services, Kashmir (DHSK) Dr Jehangir Bakshi visited the far flung and remotest areas of Gurez Block of District Bandipora to assess the status of health care delivery systems in difficult/forward areas.
During his visit DHSK inspected CHC Dawar, PHC Sheikhpora, PHC Budogam, AAM-SC Badouab and AAM-SC Angaikot. The extensive tour included detailed review of all the health care institutes with emphasis upon status of HR, medicines and national schemes, and assessment of measures required for upgradation of these facilities. Director Health was accompanied by BMO Gurez Dr Tahira Nazir and other senior officers/officials of Block Gurez.
DHSK apart from addressing various issues also assured the general public at Dawar that an eye camp shall be organized at CHC Dawar very soon. During the interaction with the locals at PHC Badogam he assured them that the concerned construction agency shall be approached for handing over of the new maternity block and fencing of the PHC on top priority.
At PHC Sheikhpora he assured for providing 4×4 ambulance at the earliest along with operationalisation of high-end equipments for better patient care. DHSK also instructed that a refresher course for ASHA workers on Induction Module (I to V) and other more capacity building workshops should be organized for smooth functioning of the ASHA functionality of the Block. On this occasion DHSK was apprised that all JSY payments and ASHA incentives have been cleared.
DHSK also interacted with Director Family Welfare J&K Dr Tajamul Hussain Khan who was touring Gurez Valley. Both the HODs mutually agreed to improve coordination between the departments in order to facilitate and upgrade healthcare delivery system in the remote areas.
