DHSK conducts meeting under NITI Ayog

Srinagar, May 21: Director Health Services, Kashmir (DHSK) Dr Saleem ur Rehman Monday held a meeting at the Directorate to deliberate upon the health targets mentioned under Transformation of Aspirational District (TAD) scheme of NITI Ayog.

Government of India has embarked on a policy of giving special focus and attention 115 districts across 29 states for achieving their rapid transformation.

“This is in-tune with Prime Minister’s vision 2022 of transforming India over the next five years. The scheme has been named as Transformation of Aspirational District (TAD) scheme. District Baramulla & Kupwara have been identified in the state of J&K as aspirational districts under the said initiative,” the statement said.

The meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer Kupwara along with all district Block Medical Officers, District Tuberculosis officer.

DHSK stressed upon the officials that the Government under NITI Ayog is committed in raising the living standards of its citizens and ensuring inclusive growth for all – “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas”.

It focuses upon enabling optimum utilization of their potential, this program focuses closely on improving people’s ability to participate fully in the vibrant economy. Health & Nutrition, Education, Agriculture & Water Resources, Financial Inclusion & Skill Development, and Basic Infrastructure are this programme’s core areas of focus.

The District Health Officers of Kupwara present in the meet apprised the Director in terms of current health status of the District and way ahead to achieve the goals under the said scheme. The deliberation was assisted with a power point presentation also. DHSK directed the officials to work with utmost devotion in order to achieve the objectives that have been laid down under the TAD scheme.
