SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 06: Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, Chairperson of the J&K Waqf Board, today inaugurated several new infrastructure projects at the shrine of Zainuddin Wali (RA) in Srigufwara and later at the Aasar-e-Sharif Dargah Khiram in South Kashmir. The foundation stones for these projects were laid by Andrabi, and the work was completed well before the set deadlines. Dr. Andrabi also laid foundations for additional projects at both shrines. She was accompanied by the Tehsildar and Executive Magistrate of the Board, Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin, and Executive Engineer Tariq Kaloo.
During her visit, Dr. Andrabi paid obeisance at the shrines and prayed for peace in J&K. She met with several public delegations, interacting with local representatives for feedback. Addressing gatherings at both locations, Andrabi expressed satisfaction at the public’s positive response to the significant progress made by the J&K Waqf Board over the past thirty months. “Development at all shrines testifies to our resolve and promise of transformation, and our relentless and honest work is evident on the ground. We see immense progress at all Waqf Board-managed shrines, and the mission of transformation continues,” said Andrabi.
Andrabi detailed the works completed by the Board over the past two years at Srigufwara, including the construction of open Wudhu units, a Langar Khana, renovation of Hamam Wudhu units, tiling of the lawn and pathway, recreation of the Dewri Pathway, an Entrance Canopy for the shrine and mosque, and a new ‘mimber’ at the adjacent Eidgah, all of which have enhanced the facilities and grandeur of this Sufi shrine. She also updated the public on recent improvements at the Dargah Sharif in Khiram, including a Sabaat for women, open Wudhu units, a Hamam with Wudhu units for the Jamia Masjid, an Entrance Canopy for the Jamia Masjid, new Collection Beats, and a Langar Khana for pilgrims.
“Many more plans are in place and will be implemented soon,” she added, instructing local staff to maintain high standards of cleanliness and discipline at these important spiritual centers.
