BANDIPORA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Shakeel Ul Rehman today visited Banyari and adjacent areas to inspect the progress of work on the prestigious Wular Walkway Project.
The DC examined various aspects of the project, including construction quality, compliance with design specifications and adherence to timelines.
Engineers present on the occasion informed that the project is being executed at an estimated cost of Rs. 19.42 crore. It was reported that around 40% of the work has been completed, and work is progressing at full pace to complete the project within the given deadline.
It was also informed that the prestigious Wular Walkway Project includes a cycle track, green patch, and tiled path, besides two car parking areas.
The DC, on the occasion, directed Tehsildar Hajin to monitor the pace of work and submit reports on a weekly basis. He also directed the concerned engineers to submit geo-tagged photos on a daily basis for effective monitoring of the ongoing work.
Highlighting the importance of the Wular Walkway Project in enhancing the recreational and environmental infrastructure surrounding the pristine Wular Lake, the DC stressed the need for the executing agency to redouble their efforts and increase the pace of work for early completion of the project.
He also passed directions to the concerned Officers from the R&B Department to conduct site visits, progress reviews, and coordinate with the executing agency to address any challenges promptly.
