DAKwelcomes move to restoreadministrative seniority in health deptt

Srinagar, Oct 26: Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) on Friday has welcomed the initiative of Governor led government to initiate restoration of administrative seniority in department of health on basis of seniority and credibility.
“Restoring absolutely administrative seniority is one of the long pending demands of Doctors Association Kashmir,” said President DAK, Dr Suhail Naik in a statement issued to the media.
“The rural health department is in complete shambles due to administrative inertia and failure. Parachuting of juniors, blue eyed medical officers and consultants without any degree, acumen or experience in administration has resulted in indiscipline, corruption and absolute failure of health services at gross root level. Appointing officers by pick and choose method with vested political interests is main reason that people friendly centrally sponsored schemes have not benefited people at gross root levels.”
The president Naik expressing thanks to the Government said that the Governor led administration have started the process for restoration of administrative seniority in health department and we hope that the same will be followed till the last thread in health administration that is BMO is executed on seniority and merit.

It is imperative to promote the health officials with absolute seniority and credibility to responsible health administrative posts like CMO, Medical Superintendents, DTO, BMO etc to get back discipline, work culture and dynamics in rural health care, which is currently is complete mess and shambles said General Secretary DAK, Dr Owais H Dar.
Department of health is only a single department in the state of Jammu and Kashmir where juniors are appointed as administrators by pick and choose method in violation of norms of promotion and selection.
It is pertinent to mention here that DAK has submitted the proposal for absolute restoration of health administration on basis of seniority and credibility and same was discussed with the already framed committee by state government, who is examining the various genuine demands of DAK.
