Srinagar: In view covid-19 pandemic, district Samba Sunday witnessed its first Covid-19 positive case reported from village Supwal.
The district administration Monday declared the complete village as HOTSPOT.
Following the rigorous sampling and testing by medical teams, one positive case having travel history was reported from Supwal village. The case was referred to GMC Jammu for further treatment.
District administration taking immediate response has sealed all the inward and outward movement of men, material and means from the village to contain the spread of virus till all contacts of covid-19 patient are tested negative.
It was informed that a designated district officer is stationed at an appropriate location in the village and a Control room has been setup for any kind of assistance to local habitants including availability of essential commodities, conduction of door to door tests, announcements through PAS, medical assistance, and availability of dry and wet ration besides other necessary measures.
Deputy Commissioner said that “10 medical team headed by MO, revenue officials, police personals and panchayat members will carry out door to door medical checkups and contact tracing and report will be submitted within 03 days”. DC said that complete area shall be sanitized while masks and gloves shall also be distributed among public.
District Administration has appealed to all the residents of samba district in general and habitants of Supwal village in particular to remain indoors and follow the government directions. All the essential items shall be provided at the door steps and for any assistance contact the control room telephonically. District control room, Samba number is 01923-246915.
