Srinagar: Even as coronavirus scare has halted every activity in Kashmir, the Department of Horticulture has suggested that there should be no change or suspension in the spraying schedule of apple orchards.

The department, however, appealed the farmers to wear protective gears including masks, goggles, waterproof jackets and maintain distance while spraying pesticides in the orchards.
Deputy Director Horticulture Department, Javed Ahmad told The Kashmir Monitor that any delay in the spraying process can destroy the apple crop. He said people should mostly rely on spraying through tractor and modern machines to avoid crowding in the orchards.
