COVID19: Cases emerge from South Kashmir as four more test positive, number surges to 45

Srinagar, Mar 30: Four fresh cases of coronavirus including maiden cases from south Kashmir were detected on Monday taking the number of such cases in the valley to 33 and in J&K to 45.

Government spokesperson Rohit Kansal tweeted the status update: “Four more cases detected positive in Kasmir. 2 each from Shopian and Srinagar. All contacts of previous positive cases. Contact tracing working on ground.”

Earlier in the day, three positive cases had been found in Jammu taking the total number of such cases in the division to nine.  

On Sunday, as many as five cases were reported in Kashmir even as the valley witnessed second death due to the virus after an elderly man from Tangmarg passed away at Chest Diseases Hospital here.

As many as 29 cases have been reported in the Kashmir division while 12 cases were reported from Jammu.
