COVID claims 18 more lives in J&K, toll 836

Srinagar: As many as 18 more people in Jammu and Kashmir died of COVID-19 on Wednesday thus taking the death toll due to Coronavirus in the Union Territory to 836.

An official said that 18 patients who died include a 65-year-old man from Handwara, a 62-year-old woman from Sumbal Bandipora, a 65-year-old woman from Khanyar, a middle aged man from Charar-e-Shareef , a 77-year-old woman from Noorbagh Baramulla, a 45-year-old man from  Kargil, a 55-year-old woman from Barzulla Srinagar, a 70-year-old man from Russu Budgam, a 55-year-old man and 62-year-old woman from RS Pora Jammu, a 55-year-old man from Bahu Fort Jammu, a 45-year-old man from Subash Nagar Jammu, a 72-year-old woman from Kishtiwar, a 70-year-old man from Kalakote Rajouri, a 60-year-old man from Sodhra Bridge Rajouri, two from Reasi and one from Kathua.

An official from SMHS said that a patient from Bonagam Handwara who was admitted on 29 August, a patient from Shadipora Sumbal Bandipora who was admitted on 05 September, a patient from Khanyar who was admitted on 05 September, a patient from Charar-e-Shareef who was admitted on 04 September, a patient from Noorbagh Baramulla who was admitted on 8 September and a patient from Kargil who was admitted on 05 September died on Wednesday.

An official from SKIMS Soura said that a patient from Barzulla Srinagar who was admitted on 04 August died on Wednesday.

An official from JVC SKIMS Bemina said that a patient from Russu Budgam who was admitted few days before died on Wednesday.

An official from Jammu division said that two patients from RS Pura Jammu, a patient from Bahufort, a patient from Subash Nagar, a patient from Kishtiwar town, a patient from Kalakote and other from Sunderbani area of Rajouri, two patient from Reasi including one who was admitted in Ludhiana and had met with an accident and one from Kathua died on Wednesday.

With 18 more deaths, the death toll in J&K has reached to 836 including from Kashmir 713 division and 123 from Jammu division. (KNO)
