Srinagar: Two identical date-sheets appearing on social media for class 12 have misled students, many of whom missed their papers on November 11.

On September 28, JK Board of School Education (JKBOSE) issued a date sheet as per which the students were to appear in Geology, Biotechnology, Microbiology and Biochemistry, Urdu, Hindi, Kashmiri, Punjabi and Business studies papers on the day.

However, soon another date-sheet appeared on social media asking the students to appear in the subjects on November 12.

“I missed my Urdu paper as I was not aware that JKBOSE had issued only one date-sheet. The date sheet was similar to the one issued by the JKBOSE,” said Habia Hilal, a student.

Habia, whose appearing in the examination at Raj Bagh Higher Secondary School (HSS) here said three students from her centre missed the paper.

Another student added: “We fail to understand how another date-sheet surfaced on social media. Even students were called by the superintendents, asking why they didn’t turn up for the examination.”

The students appealed JKBOSE to conduct a fresh examination for them.

“We have to do preparations again. We shall come to know at an earliest when JKBOSE is going to conduct the papers we missed,” she added.

Joint Secretary JKBOSE, Syed Abdul Rouf, admitted that two date-sheets have appeared on social-media.

“We issued only one. Around ten students have approached us, we are considering their case. If anybody else has missed any of the papers, they should approach use,” he said.
