Class 10 student killed in road accident

Srinagar, Jan 14: A tenth standard student was crushed to death by a speeding tipper in Maitra area of Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.
The deceased, identified as Liyaqat Ahmed (17), son of Abdul Latief, a resident of Pogal in Banihal, was returning from a tuition centre when a tipper hit him at Masjid Chowk Maitra.
He was shifted to District Hospital Ramban where he succumbed soon after his arrival, said an official.
He said the tipper driver escaped from the spot. “A manhunt has been launched to nab him,” said the official.
