Srinagar, Nov 5: People from different walks of life have offered condolence to Mirwaiz Umar Farooq over the death of his uncle Mirwaiz Mohammad Ahmad Shah.
Several political leaders including the former chief ministers Dr Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti visited Mirwaiz Umar Farooq’s residence in Nigeen to offer their condolences.
Mirwaiz Mohammad Ahmad, son of Mirwaiz Yousuf Shah (RA), passed away in Islamabad after a brief illness.
Moreover, several civil society members and religious clerics visited the Mirwaiz today to express their condolence.
“With profound grief and sadness, we inform the demise of the patriarch of the Mirwaiz family, Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Ahmad Shah, the illustrious son of Muhajir-e-Millat, Mufasir-e-Quran, Mirwaiz Yousuf Shah (RA), in Islamabad, Pakistan on Saturday night, after a brief illness. Condolences will be received at Mirwaiz Manzil, Nigeen – the residence of the bereaved Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq,” a statement of the Mirwaiz family issued here said
