CBC’s photo exhibition on Kargil Vijay Diwas concludes

SRINAGAR, JULY 27: The two day Photo Exhibition cum Integrated Communication and Outreach programme of the Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Field Office Srinagar culminated today at the Kendriya Vidyalaya Batwara Srinagar. 

Aimed at showcasing the valour and  patriotism of the Indian soldiers during the Kargil War in 1999, the photographic displays showcased portraits of the soldiers, their struggles, sacrifice, valour and sacrifices in reclaiming the hills occupied by the Pakistani Army and its intruders during the Kargil War. 

On the concluding day of the exhibition, resource persons from various departments, educational institutions and students delivered speeches on Kargil Vijay Diwas, patriotism and national unity.

Field Publicity Officer Naseer Ahmad Rather said that the exhibition, part of the similar exhibitions organised by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting across the country, showcased the contributions of war heroes, the pivotal role of Indian citizens, and India’s artillery and defense strength, illustrating how India triumphed in the war and reclaimed its territory. He underscored the importance of the exhibition in promoting national unity and patriotism among the younger generation. 

An open quiz and a painting competition was also organised. The participants  were awarded with certificates and mementos. Cultural artists empanelled with CBC Srinagar presented colourful skits and musical programmes on national unity and patriotism.

The two-day exhibition saw an enthusiastic participation from a large number of students across various educational zones of Srinagar district and visitors alike. The participants also took a pledge to promote national unity, peace, and work diligently for the progress of the nation.
