Budgam residents protest against unscheduled power cuts

Srinagar, Jan 23: The residents of Panzan and Raipora villages of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday blocked the road connecting headquarters Budgam to protest against the unscheduled power cuts in the area.

Reports said that scores of the residents from both the villages assembled and blocked the main road, hampering the traffic movement for hours.

The residents while chanting anti-governmental and anti-PDD slogans complained about the unscheduled power cuts in the area and appealed the concerned authorities to look into the matter.

The protesting residents said that despite repeated requests to the authorities there were no initiatives taken by them.
