Apart from daredevil stunts, the second episode of Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 14 was full of drama. The episode saw contestant Asim Riaz getting expelled after he had an altercation with the show’s host Rohit Shetty and other contestants. During the episode, the actor/model disrespected other contestants and called them ‘losers.’ Asim’s behaviour didn’t go down well with Rohit, who warned him saying, “Utha ke yahi patak dunga (I will thrash you right here),” and later expelled him from for his bad behaviour.
Asim questioned the show for setting up impossible task
It all started during a task when Asim, along with Aashish Mehrotra and Niyati Fatnan, was supposed to remove flags from a hanging plank while positioning themselves on a seesaw. They were supposed to collect five flags. Though the task would be performed by all three contestants, only the two best performers would be saved from elimination. While Aashish and Niyati finished the task, Asim couldn’t. This prompted the other two contestants to ask Asim to take responsibility for his failure.
After failing to do the task, Asim blamed the show’s team for setting up an impossible task. He said, “Do it in front of me. I won’t take a rupee from you guys. If you do it, I won’t take a rupee, camera is on.” When Rohit further inquired about his statement, Asim stated that this task was impossible to do. To prove him wrong, Rohit showed him the rehearsal video, where the show’s team performed the task successfully while taking care of all safety measures. He explained how every task is performed by the team first as they check all the safety measures and then contestants are asked to perform them.
Rohit Shetty lost his cool
After seeing the rehearsal video, Asim said, “Yes, I asked for the proof.” Rohit asked him, “Now what do you want to say.” Responding to Rohit, he said, “Sir, there’s no problem. I am very sorted.” Shetty continued, “Kal bhi tune bohot bakwaas ki (Yesterday also you said a lot of nonsense).” While Asim was trying to explain himself, Rohit lost his cool and said, “Sun meri baat sunle varna mei utha ke yahi patak dunga. Aise mere se badtameezi nahi karna (Listen to be otherwise I will thrash you here. Don’t behave badly here).”
This prompted Asim to approach Rohit and he walked towards him. While another contestant Abhishek Kumar warned him against doing so, Asim turned around and shouted, “Don’t f**k with me. I’m 31 years old and have been 15 years in the industry. Who are you talking about? You just got famous.” Abhishek asked Asim, “Are you jealous?” Asim shouted, “No, I am not. Everybody is famous. Joh shaurat maine dekhi hai na, kisine nahi dekhi hai (Nobody else has seen the start I have seen).”
Seeing Asim shout, the show’s team stepped in to calm him down but he started blaming the team and said, “The money that you guys are giving me, I earn triple of it. I have so much money you can’t even imagine. I change four cars within six months. Do you think I need that money? It is for the fans I was here, not for these losers.”
Asim tried to charge at Abhishek with his shoe
Listening to Asim call the other contestants ‘losers,’ Abhishek lost his cool but this only agitated Asim further, who charged at Abhishek with a shoe in his hand. While other contestants dragged Abhishek away, Asim went on to say, “You see the buzz around the internet. It is because of me. Do you get it? Because it’s after four years. Whenever I come even after 10 years, it’s the same buzz. Otherwise yeh aate jaate pata nahi chalta (otherwise nobody would know about them).”
Asim got expelled from the show
After Asim walked away in anger, Rohit said how he has hosted the show for 10 years and has seen 150-200 contestants come and go but he hasn’t seen anyone create a scene like this. “It was a shock to me,” the filmmaker said. Later, he announced to contestants that Asim had been expelled from the show for his behaviour. He said, “I wish him all the luck but now he can’t continue in this show. He has a point of view, no doubt about it and I respect that. I wish him all the luck. He is a young kid and may god bless him with success.”
