SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 4: BJP candidate for the prestigious Lal Chowk Assembly segment, Engineer Aijaz Hussain, was accompanied by BJP National Executive Member and senior party leader Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi today in a mega rally from Balhama to the office of the Returning Officer, Srinagar, through Lal Chowk. Hundreds of vehicles filled with party supporters participated in the rally.
After the culmination of the rally, Engineer Aijaz Hussain filed his nomination papers for the Lal Chowk constituency in the presence of Dr Andrabi. Speaking to the media during the rally, Dr Andrabi said that the young leadership of the party has filled their cadres with enthusiasm and energy. “BJP has infused fresh and soothing air into the political arena of Kashmir. We don’t believe in political rhetoric but have a clear-cut agenda of peace and development in J&K,” said Dr Andrabi.
She hailed the supporters of Engineer Aijaz Hussain for beginning a very positive, impactful campaign and expressed hope that his candidature would yield a historic result from the pivotal Lal Chowk Assembly seat. Andrabi noted that J&K is now celebrating the election time like a festival, as they no longer have the curfews imposed by the Abdullahs and Muftis, stone pelting, or threats from separatists. “PDP, NC, and Congress want and speak about the reversal of the correction measures of the country, and they dream of dragging Kashmiris back into the old days of destruction and bloodshed. But peace times are now irreversible, and they should understand this sooner rather than later,” said Andrabi.
