Srinagar, Sep 05: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to address a public rally in Jammu on Saturday in a bid to bolster the BJP’s poll campaign.

A top BJP leader said that all arrangements for the meeting to be held on Saturday by the Home Minister Amit Shah, have been finalized by the BJP’s Jammu and Kashmir unit.

The event aims to galvanize support for the party ahead of the crucial elections.

Ahead of the rally, Union Minister for Coal and Mines and BJP In-Charge of J&K Assembly Elections, G. Kishan Reddy, inspected the venue and reviewed the preparations.

Reddy stated, “We are ensuring that every detail is meticulously arranged for the meeting. Amit Shah’s visit is a critical part of our campaign strategy, and we are confident it will energize our supporters.”

Shah’s visit comes at a critical time for the BJP in J&K as the party faces growing challenges ahead of the assembly elections with several leaders and workers protesting and some of them leaving the saffron party after being denied tickets.

“Amit Shah ji is arriving in Jammu for a two-day visit starting tomorrow. He will be arriving in the late afternoon from Delhi,” a senior leader told PTI.

On the first day of his visit, Shah will release the party manifesto at 4 pm, the leader added.

Later in the evening, he will chair a meeting with party leaders and meet delegations of party workers.

Shah will officially launch the BJP’s campaign from Jammu, where he is scheduled to address a rally in the city on Saturday, he said.

He said that the BJP’s efforts to mobilize voters and strengthen their position in Jammu and Kashmir are expected to intensify in the days to come.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will begin  BJP’s campaign in Jammu and Kashmir next week.

BJP Jammu and Kashmir General Secretary Ashok Koul said PM Modi will address these rallies to boost the party’s momentum ahead of the Assembly elections in the Union Territory.

“We are expecting that two of the Prime Minister’s rallies will be held in Jammu, while one will take place in Srinagar,” Koul said, indicating the significance of both regions in the upcoming election battle.

When asked if Home Minister Amit Shah would also visit the Kashmir region, Koul confirmed that Shah will be on a two-day visit to Jammu starting September 6.

However, he also mentioned the possibility of Amit Shah visiting Kashmir to raise the morale of BJP candidates and supporters.

“Yesterday, when our candidates filed their nominations in Srinagar, a large number of people came out to support them. It shows that people in Kashmir have faith in the Narendra Modi-led government and support the BJP for the Assembly elections,” Koul added.

Sources said that during Amit Shah’s visit, he is likely to release the BJP’s election manifesto and hold meetings with party leaders and workers in Jammu.
