A Saudi Sheikh has sent a marriage proposal to American actress Amber Heard after she lost her case against her ex-husband and Hollywood actor Johnny Depp.
Gulf News reported that Saudi Sheikh had sent a voice note on Heard’s official Instagram account.
“Amber… since all doors are closing on you, you have no one except me to take care of you. I’ve noticed that some people hate and bully you, therefore, I decided to marry you. May Allah bless us both. You are a blessing but people don’t appreciate that. I am better than that old man,” reads the transcription of the voice note.
A Virginia jury has found that actress Amber Heard defamed Hollywood star Johnny Depp when she wrote a 2018 ‘Washington Post’ op-ed alluding to her past claims of domestic violence.
The jury also found that Depp defamed Heard, through his attorney, in the course of fighting back against her charges.
It awarded Depp $10 million in compensatory damages, plus $5 million in punitive damages, which Judge Penney Azcarate reduced to $350,000 by the state’s statutory cap.
Heard was awarded $2 million in compensatory damages for her counterclaim.
The jury, five men and two women, who have been deliberating on their verdict since this past Friday, also found that Heard had acted with “actual malice”, meaning that they were convinced she had made the statements knowing they were false, according to ‘Variety’.
Responding to the verdict from the United Kingdom, where he has been attending concerts, Depp said Heard’s false claims had “a seismic impact on my life and my career”.
After several years of dating, Depp and Heard got married in a very private ceremony at their home in Los Angeles in 2015. On May 23, 2016, Heard filed for divorce from Depp and obtained a temporary restraining order against the Oscar-nominated actor. She alleged that Depp physically abused her during their relationship. The abuse was mostly under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
