`Accelerate pace of work’: LG reviews progress of transit accommodation for PM package employees

SRINAGAR, MAY 02: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today chaired a meeting with senior officials and reviewed the ongoing construction work of the transit accommodation for PM Package Employees.

The Lt Governor took appraisal of the progress of transit accommodation across the Kashmir Division.

He directed the officials to accelerate the pace of work and complete the construction and associated infrastructure, approach roads, water and power supply, and other basic amenities.

Meeting was attended by Atal Dulloo, Chief Secretary; Dr Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, Principal Secretary to Lt Governor; Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir; G Prasanna Ramaswamy, Secretary Revenue Department; Bupinder Kumar, Secretary, Public Works (R&B); Anil Koul, Secretary to Government, Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation & Reconstruction Department and other senior officials.

Earlier in February, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha reviewed ongoing construction work of the transit accommodation for Kashmiri Pandit employees, recruited under the PM package, at Zewan here.

The LG, who visited the construction site, directed the officials to complete 10 blocks comprising 240 residential units by March 20, an official spokesman said.

Sinha directed the officials for installation of CCTV cameras, and to complete the work on the approach road to the transit accommodation and boundary wall, simultaneously, the spokesman said.

The LG was informed that more than 70 percent target under the project has been achieved with the completion of civil works on 26 blocks comprising 624 flats
