Srinagar, February 25 : In the aftermath of violence in Jammu post Lethpora attack, it has come to fore that at least 53 vehicles and six residential houses were heavily damaged by the mobs during protests in the district from Feb 14.
A First Information Report (FIR) registered by the Police, a copy of which lies with media reads that at least 53 vehicles were heavily damaged in Jammu district. The copy further reads that six residential houses were also damaged during the protests.
However, the owners of the vehicles and houses told media that government is not paying any compensation to them in this regard. “We approached to the higher ups in this regard and urged them to compensate them as our properties have been damaged by the mobs but they are not paying any heed to our demands,” they said.
They urged Governor Satya Pal Malik to intervene into the matter and provide compensation to them at an earliest so that they could heave a sigh of relief. (KNO)
