Srinagar, June 19 : Two locals were among three Jaish-e-Mohammad militants killed and four army soldiers and a CRPF trooper were injured in a gunfight at Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday.
A police officer said a joint team of army, SOG and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search operation at Hyena village of Nazneenpora, Tral following specific information about the presence of militants.
As the joint team of forces fired some warning shots, the militants hiding inside the village opened fire which resulted into an encounter, he said. The forces used a unique bomb as a result of which house was completely destroyed. A video clip of the blast has gone viral and the house is seen razed to rubble completely with fumes of dust.
Sources identified the slain militants as Adil of Midoora Tral (Active from last two days), Danish of Pinglish Tral (Active from last 23 days) and one Pakistani. (GNS)
