24×7 oxygen supply available at Super-Specialty hospital: Asiea

JAMMU, JAN 30: Minister of State for Health and Medical Education Asiea Naqash today said that the Super Specialty Hospital provides oxygen to the patients through Oxygen Generating Plant backed up by Oxygen cylinders through manifold gas pipe lines on 24×7 basis.
Replying to a question of Ramesh Arora, the Minister informed that an amount of Rs. 9.92 lakh has been demanded under Non Plan Head for AMC/CMC of Oxygen Plant.
She informed that three generators have been installed in Super Specialty Hospital, Jammu of which only one is used on regular basis while other two are used periodically when the need arises. “Out of five lifts, only two are functional in the Hospital,” she said, adding that the issue of restoration of non-functional lifts would be taken up with the concerned.
Minister of State for Health & Medical Education, Asiea Naqash today informed the Legislative Assembly that all 11 sanctioned posts of doctors in the health institutions of Zadibal constituency are filled up and there is no vacancy.
She further informed that in addition to that the Health Department has provided additional 10 posts of doctors under NHM to further augment the health services as per the work load in various institutions of the constituency.
Replying to a question by Mr Abid Hussain Ansari, the Minister said that presently there are two road-worthy ambulances available at PHC Zadibal, while another ambulance at Lal Bazaar needs some repair which will be done shortly.
Responding to other part of the main question, the Minister said that PHC Zadibal does not qualify for up-gradation to the level of SDH/CHC, which requires 80000 souls, while presently the population of the area is 57823. She further said that a proposal for up-gradation of PHC Zadibal as Modal Health Centre (MHC) is under active consideration of the Government.
Mubarak Gul raised a supplementary to the main question and called upon the government to augment the health services in his constituency.
